Loan Watch 3

Wealdstone FC 0 – 1 Chelmsford City FC (Tuesday 25th)

Tom Knowles scored just 24 seconds into the second half for Chelmsford City as they stunned league leaders Wealdstone with a 1-0 win away from home. After a hard fought point at the weekend against Slough, Chelmsford faced another tough test in league leaders Wealdstone on Tuesday night. In a closely contested game, it was Tom Knowles’s goal 24 seconds after the restart which separated the two sides as Chelmsford began to find their feet again after a rough patch. Knowles completed 82 minutes before being replaced as Chelmsford looked to hold onto there lead.

Yaxley FC 4 – 6 Barton Rovers FC

Thankfully Yaxley play on astro so the game at The Decker Bus Stadium was never in doubt… unless we were faced with snow again. Luckily we weren’t so the game went ahead. Sam Bennett started and played 90 minutes as Jake Battersby appeared as a second half substitute in Yaxley’s 4-6 loss to Barton Rovers. After losing their last four games on the road Barton Rovers arrived at The Decker Bus Stadium to face Yaxley, who were coming off the back of a 5-0 hammering to Halesowen Town, after their game last weekend against Thame United was postponed. A difficult first half for Yaxley saw them go in at the break 4-0 down. However, they made for a competitive second half when they scored soon after the interval. Barton were quick to respond though, scoring once more to make it 5-1 but two quick goals from Yaxley inside the final 10 minutes made for an interesting end to the game. Although Barton soon squashed there hopes, scoring again to make it 6-3. The Cuckoos responded deep into stoppage time grabbing only a consolation goal.

Hampton & Richmond Borough FC P – P Chelmsford City FC

After midweek success against league leader Wealdstone, it was the weather who ultimately took the three points in this game, adding this fixture to a long list of postponements over the weekend.

Mildenhall Town FC P – P Norwich United FC & Aylesbury United FC P – P St. Neots Town FC

Unfortunately due to the weather conditions over the week both games were postponed, leaving Harvey Steel, Tom Dickens, Lewis Simper and Finley Iron all without a game.
